Low Speed Vehicles
- Each vehicle carries a VIN registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
- Subject to state and local laws.
Vehicles must be titled and registered with the South Carolina Department of Transportation.
Golf Carts
- Generally considered less safe than an LSV or Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV).
- Must be registered with the DMV by a licensed driver with a golf cart permit.
- Subject to state and local laws.
South Carolina law permits golf carts on secondary roads with posted speed limits of no more than 35 mph.
